By Plane
The nearest airport to Siena is Florence
airport and then Pisa.
In Siena, location Ampugnano, there is a small airport which
daily connect Siena with Malpensa airport (Milan). This

Siena is well connected with Florence, through the road
called Siena >> Firenze. This is not a pay road.
Is also easy to reach Grosseto, direction south, with the
road called Siena >> Grosseto. This is not a pay road.
High traffic during the week end.
Good connection also with Arezzo or Rome, looking at east.
The Road is called Siena >> Bettolle and is free like
the others.
The nearest highway is the A1, direction Florence for those
who need to go to the north and direction Arezzo for those
who need to go to Rome.
By Train
Siena is not a passing station with high traffic.
There are several trains which connect Siena to Florence main
station, (1,25 Hours).
There are also connection with Chiusi and Chianciano, (1,20
Hours) and from Chiusi you can easily find a train for Rome.
In any case I suggest to go to Florence if you need to go
to Rome or Milan, because fast trains only stops in Florence.
There are also trains for Grosseto (1,40 Hours) which is an
important centre in the south of Tuscany connected with Rome.
