The
130 km of coast line with beaches, pinewoods
and rocky shores are broken by numerous
coves that are now wide safe tourist harbours:
Punta Ala, Castiglione della Pescaia, Marina
di Grosseto, Talamone, Porto Santo
Stefano, Porto Ercole, Cala Galera
and the harbours in the islands of Giglio
and Giannutri have achieved a high
degree of tourist development with top
class accommodation and complementary services,
besides managing to preserve its own natural characteristics.
Maremma also boasts an interesting artistic
and cultural heritage, covering an extensive
historical period. Many etruscan remains,
found inside the tombs which are scattered across
the whole territory, are kept in the archeological
museums of Grosseto, Massa Marittima,
Vetulonia and in the archeological areas
of Sovana, Vetulonia and Roselle.
