If you have been in Chianciano Terme, send

When I arrived to Chianciano It was very strange for me to
find such a big, modern place since my experience was that
most towns of Tuscany I had visited, even the largest, have
that peaceful, country touch. There are at least 200 hotels
and many shops, restaurants and bars.
The old part of Chianciano is pretty but not very well cared,
first reason why tourists come here is because it is an important
spa town in Italy. Is not far from Montepulciano or Chiusi
which certainly conserve another character and are more charming.

I am a native of DENMARK. I have lived in UNITES STATES for
10 years. B U T - in 2003 my husband and I went to TUSCANY
for a vacation and more or less by coincidence ended up in
CHIANCIANO. This was - and has been - the most "life-changing"
travel of our lives. We completely fell in love with Chianciano.
It is SO different that the other Tuscan hilltop villages
because it is divided into the "new" and the "old"
part of town (due to the existence of the thermal springs
and the hotel and spa industry built around these in the "new"
part of town"). Therefore the OLD part : Chianciano VECCHIA
- sits up there - on its little top - almost untouched by
modern world. - We go there at least 3 times a year. And we
are often the only tourists. The feeling of "eternity",
of "peace" and "relaxation" is unbelievable.
The small cafes are gorgeous and the view ... well it is impossible
to describe.
It you need a good place to stay : try the small bed and breakfast
LA PIETRICCIA. You will wake up each morning - open the shutters
and have the most amazing view up towards this small village
and the houses that are built into the walls.
I'M IN LOVE !
