We visited San Gimignano 4 years ago. It is a very pretty
town, but extremely touristy. However some excellent restaurants
and the scenery is suberb.
Enjoy it, we did.

This town is really worth a visit. It has many shops for tourists
whilst retaining he charm and is very picturesque. The main
square is lovely with a choice of restaurants. We wish we
had spent 2 or 3 nights here just to soak up the atmosphere.
The towers are to be seen.

I visited San Gimignano with Gela, my German girlfriend now living in Tuscany (Castellina in Chianti). A very romantic evening ensued....
thank you St.Gi! My advice to everybody? Don't even think about bypassing this beautiful, magical town.

Info I visited San Gimignano in May 2005.
The town is magical from the first moment you see it from afar. It is very tourist orientated, but we stayed in a farm house jsut a few minutes away and came into town about 2pm when the buses were departing.
If you go to Tuscany this is a must see.
