Lucignano is a lovely town, very well mantained and interesting.
Is very well located, on the border with Siena Province and
from here you can easily reach Siena, the south of Siena (Montepulciano,
Pienza, San Quirico d' Orcia) or Cortona and Arezzo. The area
is full of farmhouses and places to stay.

My family just spent 10 days in Tuscany. We had booked our
first 3 nights in Lucignano with plans to move on after to
another town. However, we feel in love with Lucignano and
spent all 10 days there! It has an incredible location - you
can get to Florence, Siena, Montalcino, Cortona, etc. all
in 30 minutes to 1 hour max. The people we met in Lucignano
were extraordinary. By the 3rd day, the townspeople recognized
us and would say hello, stop and talk, play with our children,
etc. It's the best of both worlds - a beautiful town with
a great location and a warm and friendly place not over-run
with tourists. Truly a special place - we can't wait to go
back!!!!

My wife & I stumbled across this place, planning only
to stop for lunch on the way to Siena. We couldn't believe
how beautiful it was. We ended up staying for two days.
I am sure I have never been to a more beautiful village in
my life. As we lay by the hotel's pool, right next to the
English garden contemplating the previous evening's 7-course
Tuscan feast given to us, I actualy had tears in my eyes as
I thought of this place.
I could not recommend this place highly enough, it is a beautiful
place with warm, friendly people, delicious food.
Four years after I was there I still look on the internet
for pictures of this town.
